d a s S c h w a n g e r e n t u r n e n und - s c h w i m m e n , die F l u o r a k t i o n e n in K i n d e r g ä r t e n
u n d S c h u l e n , d i e v o r b e u g e n d e n Maßn a h m e n bei a n s t e c k e n d e r G e l b s u c h t
usw. A l l e d i e s e E i n r i c h t u n g e n w u r d e n
z u m T e i l e r s t m a l i g in Österreich d u r c h
Dr. Unterrichter e i n g e f ü h r t und h a b e n
sich bis heute b e s t e n s bewährt. V i e l e
d i e s e r M a ß n a h m e n w u r d e n von a n d e ren Städten und L ä n d e r n auf G r u n d d e r
guten Erfahrungen übernommen.
S e i n b e s o n d e r e s B e m ü h e n galt d e r
Herabsetzung der Säuglingssterblichkeit. Unter s e i n e r L e i t u n g w u r d e d a s
Netz
der
Mutterberatungsstellen
in
Innsbruck w e i t g e h e n d s t a u s g e b a u t u n d
auf e i n e o p t i m a l e A r b e i t s l e i s t u n g g e bracht. L a n g e J a h r e hindurch w a r er

L e h r e r und S c h u l a r z t an d e r G e w e r b e schule und k o n n t e sich dort s e i n e m
Lieblingsgebiet, der Gewerbehygiene,
in b e s o n d e r e m M a ß e w i d m e n . In s e i n e r
k n a p p e n Freizeit wirkte er als Arzt bei
der
Freiwilligen
Rettungsgesellschaft
Innsbruck und d e m L a n d e s v e r b a n d d e s
ö s t e r r e i c h i s c h e n Roten K r e u z e s in une r m ü d l i c h e r W e i s e . Die B e t r e u u n g verunglückter und verletzter M i t m e n s c h e n
lag ihm von j e h e r s e h r am H e r z e n .
S c h o n w ä h r e n d d e s 2. W e l t k r i e g e s betätigte sich Dr. Unterrichter an f ü h r e n d e r Stelle im Luftschutz, arbeitete nach
d e m K r i e g b e i m A u f b a u d e s Zivilschutz e s mit und g a b s e i n W i s s e n in unzähligen K u r s e n u n d V o r t r ä g e n an s e i n e
Schüler und M i t m e n s c h e n weiter.
S e i n e V e r d i e n s t e w u r d e n auch von der
Öffentlichkeit d u r c h z a h l r e i c h e höchste
Auszeichnungen d e s Bundes, des Land e s und des R o t e n K r e u z e s g e w ü r d i g t .
B e i s e i n e r P e n s i o n i e r u n g konnte er ein
w o h l g e o r d n e t e s G e s u n d h e i t s a m t über-

g e b e n , w e l c h e s allen A n f o r d e r u n g e n
z u m S c h u t z und W o h l der B e v ö l k e r u n g
d e r Stadt Innsbruck g e w a c h s e n war.
A u c h nach s e i n e r P e n s i o n i e r u n g war er
unermüdlich als Arzt tätig und veröffentlichte mehrere A r b e i t e n in m e d i z i n i s c h e n F a c h z e i t s c h r i f t e n . Trotz s e i n e r
a n g e s t r e n g t e n Tätigkeit als Arzt fand
Dr. Unterrichter immer noch Zeit für
eine Ausgleichstätigkeit. A l s m u s i s c h e r
M e n s c h w a r e r allen künstlerischen
D a r b i e t u n g e n a u f g e s c h l o s s e n , interessierte sich für die G e s c h i c h t e s e i n e r
Heimat T i r o l und w a r s o g a r ein K e n n e r
der prähistorischen Zeit d i e s e s L a n d e s .
A l s p a s s i o n i e r t e r B e r g s t e i g e r wanderte
er bis zuletzt in s e i n e n B e r g e n . E i n e
b e s o n d e r e V o r l i e b e galt d e m B e s u c h
von fernen L ä n d e r n und von s o l c h einer
R e i s e sollte der verdienstvolle M a n n
nicht mehr h e i m k e h r e n . Wir w e r d e n ihn
als Arzt, K o l l e g e n und F r e u n d nie vergessen.
